Writing in the Major (WIM) is a special section of the course Introduction to Cognitive Science, which is designed to develop students’ skills in writing that analyzes key topics in cognitive science.
Key topics:
- Core concepts in cognitive science, ranging from the innateness of concepts and grammar to the role of emotion in cognition
- Incorporating insights from the fields of psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, linguistics, and artificial intelligence
Responsibilities:
- Teaching the weekly WIM section of the course Introduction to Cognitive Science
- Instructing students in methods of critical analysis and scientific writing
- Grading and providing feedback on student writing
