Writing in the Major: Introduction to Cognitive Science, COGST 1104 (Fall 2025)

Writing in the Major (WIM) is a special section of the course Introduction to Cognitive Science, which is designed to develop students’ skills in writing that analyzes key topics in cognitive science.

Key topics:

  • Core concepts in cognitive science, ranging from the innateness of concepts and grammar to the role of emotion in cognition
  • Incorporating insights from the fields of psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, linguistics, and artificial intelligence

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching the weekly WIM section of the course Introduction to Cognitive Science
  • Instructing students in methods of critical analysis and scientific writing
  • Grading and providing feedback on student writing
